What does “pre-loved” mean?
Our books have had a life before Chapter & Cause. We give good second-hand books another chance to be read, enjoyed and passed on.
Are all books £5?
Most of our pre-loved books are £5. If a book is priced differently, it will always be clearly shown.
What condition are the books in?
Condition varies from book to book. We’ll describe each book honestly and photograph the actual copy that’s for sale, so you can see what you’re buying.
Are the photos of the actual book?
Yes. Our aim is to show the copy that is actually for sale rather than use generic stock images.
Why has a book disappeared from the shop?
Many pre-loved titles may only be available in a single copy. Once a book has found a new home, it may no longer appear in stock.
What does “Every chapter gives back” mean?
Chapter & Cause is being built with a simple purpose: to turn everyday book sales into something useful for the community around us. As the project grows, we’ll share clearly where our support goes.
